In the modern world a lot of things have changed. Tourism one of the income earners in most countries has seen a great improvement.This is due to the change in telecommunications and transportation systems which have been enhanced by the advanced technology. The growth can also be attributed to the social networks which have been used by different marketing zones for tourists who are their customers.
In detail tourism entails traveling from place to place for leisure purposes. Therefore a person is able to move from one geographic region from where he is used to explore the different aspects of
other places. This activity is quite enjoyable and educative since one is likely to appreciate different regions and also learn more about them after such visits.
In the previous decade tourism was only a service only afforded and viewed as a life style of the elite. This aspect of it discouraged a great number of to be tourists.In recent times however, the attitude has greatly taken another turn owing to various changes in the tourism industry and technological improvements.One of the change is increase in marketing of tourists destinations which has increased the information available about those destinations. This is owing to use of the web which has become a global tool which is always available for anyone to get information from. Various countries can now market their tourists destinations and other information the render useful to the tourists something that was never available in the past.
Another important aspect that has seen the growth of tourism is the improvement and increase of the airline services. This has greatly cut down the traveling costs and made the service available to a larger class other than the elite.Another improvement that has led to the growth of this industry is the stabilization of various tourist attracting nations.In the recent past some countries which had the tourist attractions were in war and therefore no tourists would visit them. Stabilization of these countries has seen a major improvement in tourism globally .
In addition the increase in number of hotels in various tourist destinations can also be a factor to the increase of tourists.In the past years hotels in tourist destinations have been few hence they
charged high prices which discouraged most people touring those destinations. At the moment hotels are many and the services are affordable hence most people can be able to visit these destinations.
In the past the touring companies were few and this resulted to them charging high prices for this services.As a result, only the elites who had finances could access this services denying the others this facility. This made most people not to travel to their interested tourist sites. The modern times have seen a great increase in providers o tourist services which has tremendously cut the cost of this services, encouraging more people in tourist activities than before.
Mentality was also another main hindrance why people limited their touring ability. Only the elites who knew the implication of traveling were able to travel. Some of the people had various stereo types and myths which discouraged traveling . The improvement of communication has eradicated this stereotypes and made them to realize the need for traveling. Effect of this being endorsing of tourism activities by most people.
In recent times we have been able to see a growth foreign relations. In the past many countries have been enemies or in possession of weak foreign relations . This resulted to elites as top official positions like ambassadors the only ones who would visit those countries.This would be in times looking for good relations.Some organizations such as the United Nations which advocate for unity of states have seen the end of this bad relations and encouraged tourism for everyone.
Tourism is an important activity and everyone should enjoy taking part in it. It is important however,to find enough information about a tourist destination before touring it to avoid inconveniences. The following factors are relevant; weather of place , currency, political condition ,hotel availability,security, mode of transport available , language spoken in the country,capital city,tourist destinations and other information you might consider relevant for your visit.
